Lottery Funding

In 1997 the Coventry Festival Band was awarded Lottery funding through the Arts Council of England, the West Midlands Arts Council, the Local Coventry Arts Officer and the Officer for the Disabled.

The Band was successful in obtaining £28,788 which has enabled us to purchase a complete set of Yamaha instruments from Greville Hodgson Musical Instruments.

The band advertised and shortlisted five composers to write a march for the band. After assessing the compositions it was decided that the following two would be purchased by the band:

"Coventry Festival" by Andrew Hurrell.

"Festival 2000" by Charles King.
